NADRA

Paknet is carrying out WAN project for NADRA in 8 cities of Pakistan i.e. Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Sargodha, Multan, Sukkar, Quetta and Karachi. The links are being established on Optical fiber and radio modems. 90% of the work has been completed. The project was started in August 2000
   
FAB

Paknet is establishing wide area network for frequenc6y Allocation Board on its X.25 Network. Work has been completed at 11 sites in Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Hyderabad, Karachi and Quetta. The connectivity has been established on DXX, Radio links and Leased Lines. The project was launched in August 2000.
SCO

A joint project was started with Special Communications Organizations for the provision of Internet facility in Mirpur and Muzzafarabad. This project has successfully been completed and services available since February 2001. In Mirpur there are 60 access lines with 256 Kbps bandwidth. In Muzzafarabad there are 30 access lines and 256Kbps bandwidth. The present number of users in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad are 650 and 256 respectively.


GPO

Paknet has signed as agreement with Pakistan Post Office Foundation to provide Internet facility in all GPOs. Paknet is establishing its Internet club a cafe and its own customer services center in the GPOs. Under the agreement Paknet will pay 20% of the net profit to the Post Office for the project.
 

Internet at Airports
As per directions of Minister of Science and Technology, Paknet is providing Internet facility in four International Airports i.e. Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar. The project has been started to participate in Government's policy of Internet and IT promotion.
